Imsanga Aferos are genetically unstable creatures inspired by multiple different animals. Forms include a dog-like creature, an isopod-like creature, a damselfly-fish hybrid, a pig-lizard hybrid, and a llama-chicken hybrid. Unlike most creatures, they can only be obtained from the Genome Splicer.
Lore-wise, they were created by Yosof Palliard after stealing capsules and lab equipment from Sherman Kamada, among others. Yosof originally sold them out of a pop-up shop until it was shut down, where he then hacked the Genome Splicer and added the Imsanga Afero's data.

"In spite of its rather unusual origin, this juvenile seems completely healthy and grows at a normal rate. Like all Imsanga Afero juveniles, it is quite social. It is also rather vocal, especially when hungry, and refuses to eat anything but soft, easily swallowed food."

"Although the uniquely variable phenotypes of Imsanga Aferos are due to their highly mutative DNA, these lab-created creatures show complete stability by the time they are fully grown and appear capable of living long and healthy lives in a laboratory setting. It is not yet clear what their intended purpose was, as they are totally sterile and cannot reproduce, but in spite of this, many Outpost One researchers have begun to work with the new creature following the introduction of its capsule to the genome splicer. Imsanga Aferos are quite docile and easily handled, though their dietary needs require a bit of extra work. As they will only eat a soft, vegetable-based food source, researchers planning to study these creatures at length should consider investing in a blender with which to prepare fresh meals for the Imsanga Aferos in their care."

TFO uses Esperanto as a basis for creature names (although it's not always exact—accents are ignored and spellings occasionally shift). "Imsanga Afero" means "Everchanging Thing".
Imsanga Aferos are currently the first and only sterile (unbreedable) creatures on the site.
Imsanga Aferos are currently the only creature that can exclusively be obtained through the Genome Splicer.
